Early Life & Athletic Foundation

I was born on 4th of April 1970 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the youngest in a family of ten. From a young age, I was focused, determined, and naturally athletic. I played many different sports during my school years, which helped build a strong foundation for my future in athletics.

At the age of 18, while I was part of my high school track and field team, I discovered bodybuilding. My body responded quickly, gaining nearly 20 lbs within just six weeks of training. I was amazed by the transformation and became instantly hooked. From that moment on, I committed myself fully to bodybuilding and have been training ever since.

Early Life & Athletic Foundation

After only six months of training, I entered my first bodybuilding competition and won the junior category. Considering my limited knowledge of training and nutrition at the time, my condition was surprisingly good. In August 1990, I moved to the United States to attend Colorado State University. While studying, I immersed myself in bodybuilding—reading books and magazines focused on training and nutrition.

At that stage, I competed recreationally in local NPC competitions and had the opportunity to see professional bodybuilders pose in person. That experience changed everything. For the first time, I realized I had the genetics and potential to become a professional bodybuilder. From that night on, I made the decision to pursue bodybuilding as my career.

After earning a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition in 1995, I returned to Malaysia to continue competing. My goal was to become the best in Asia before returning to the United States to earn my IFBB pro card. Between 1995 and 1999, while working as a quality controller in a local food company, I competed extensively and won most major bodybuilding titles in Asia, including the prestigious IFBB Mr. Asia title in 1999. With that achievement, I returned to the United States in 2000. Within two years, I earned my IFBB professional status, becoming one of the first Asians to turn pro. During this period, I worked as a personal trainer in New York City and competed in several professional bodybuilding competitions.

Entrepreneurship, Legacy & Ongoing Passion

In March 2005, I returned to Malaysia to venture into business. On 1st September 2005, I opened my own fitness center in Kuala Lumpur. Through this gym, I aimed to educate and inspire others by sharing the knowledge gained from over 15 years in the bodybuilding and fitness industry, my Master’s degree in Human Nutrition, and my experience as a professional bodybuilder in the United States.

Although I am now an entrepreneur, the fire to compete still burns within me. I believe I am far from reaching my full potential as a professional bodybuilder, and I know I have what it takes to be among the best in the world.

My journey has been filled with ups and downs, but I never stopped believing in myself. I refused to give up, and that determination brought me to where I am today. I am truly grateful that I can make a living doing what I love most—bodybuilding.
